Open House Chicago (OHC), produced by the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC), celebrates its 10th anniversary with 10 days of urban discovery. Experience online programs as well as self-guided outdoor excursions and site visits, available exclusively through the OHC 2020 mobile app, powered by Vamonde. From October 16 to 25, 2020, OHC brings the unique cultures, expressions and flavors of Chicago to you, wherever you are.

OHC 2020 features sites, trails and online programs focused on more than 20 Chicago areas, neighborhoods and suburbs: Chicago’s Loop, Near North Side and Near West Side plus Auburn Gresham, Austin, Back of the Yards and New City, Beverly, Bronzeville, Chinatown, Englewood, Evanston and Rogers Park, Humboldt Park, Hyde Park and Kenwood, Lincoln Park, Logan Square, North Lawndale, Oak Park, Pilsen, Pullman and Roseland, South Shore, Wicker Park and Woodlawn.

Use the app to find maps, photos, short descriptions and audio clips provided by guest experts and historians about important Chicago places and spaces, and follow self-guided trails on your bike, by car or on foot. Explore the legacy of architectural innovation in Chinatown, the vibrant mosaics and murals of Pilsen, the mansions of Beer Baron Row in Wicker Park, an “emerald necklace” of parks and public spaces, and how the City of Chicago’s INVEST South/West initiative will revitalize multiple corridors. Browse and register for video broadcasts and virtual tours online throughout the festival at openhousechicago.org/programs.

CAC members get special access to an online OHC orientation as well as to My Neighborhood, My Story: an exclusive series of virtual tours of OHC neighborhoods hosted by noted architects, artists, media personalities and public figures. After the festival, the benefits to membership continue year-round, with unlimited free admission to the Chicago Architecture Center and CAC walking tours, plus discounts on parking, programs, river cruises and at the CAC Design Store. Whatever your comfort level, the CAC is ready to help you rediscover Chicago, “the city of architecture,” through in-person and virtual tours, programs and exhibits.

Become a CAC member today at architecture.org/join and visit openhousechicago.org to learn more about OHC 2020. Use the tag #OHC2020 to share your experiences and photos from Open House Chicago on social media.

All OHC 2020 experiences and programs are exclusively offered outdoors or online. While select online programs during the festival may include footage of building interiors, please do not attempt to enter any OHC 2020 sites.
